Belize, here I come!

This was the first time in a long time that I visited a Central American country. Belize, was truly something to be excited about. Home to the second biggest Barrier reef, I couldn’t wait to show you all the photos.

For this trip, I definitely had to buy a camera that took underwater photos. Belize has some awesome Caribbean beaches. The whole time I was at the store, I kept thinking how beautiful the photos would look. You all are in store for some very beautiful photos with crystal clear water coming in a few weeks.

Had to do an overnight layover in Charlotte, North Carolina. Came during the worst time. It was during the NBA All-Star weekend. So, there was no point of going out of the airport to find a hotel. If I had, I would have extra stress getting back to the airport with all the traffic from the All-Star games.

Found an overnight lounge for a decent price. It’s crazy how my room was named after the local football team. If you are ever at the Charlotte airport during an overnight layover, keep in mind that the airport shuts down after around 10 pm. The security will kick you out, if they see you wondering around later than 11pm. Best to find a lounge or some overnight accommodation.

After a goodnight sleep, I woke up and went towards my departure gate. The best thing about most overnight lounges, you don’t have to recheck yourself through security in the morning. Got on my flight, slept like a baby during the flight.

Next thing I knew, I was in Belize. My adventures in this country were about to begin! Couldn’t wait to see the Caribbean Blue waters!

Thank you for reading. Much love and safe travels!

  1. Belize is a place I have been really attracted by, the picture, and the beauty of the name, but I never thought that people really even visited it. Have a nice stay!

  2. Belize is on my bucket list…especially the Butterfly farm and the ruins just over the border north.
What is a lounge? Is it a bar open over night and you pay to be able to enter?
Looking forward to your photos! I’ve seen people using go-pros. They seems like cool cameras.

      1. Nice.

Hope Edelman wrote a powerful book “The possibility of everything”, about her trip to Belize to take her daughter to a Shaman/healer, to free her of a curse that had over taken her. It was a beautiful and stunningly honest memoir. It also had great info about Belize.

    1. Wow sounds amazing!! I will definitely check it out! Thank you so much for your suggestion katelon!

  3. How fortunate you are to be able to travel. My brother does underwater photography in coral reefs around the world so to see your pictures I can hardly wait.

    1. Unfortunately my brother does not have a website. I’ve been encouraging him to start his own blog, but he claims he is too busy. I’ve posted a time or two on my blog with his pictures but to be truthful with you, I have forgotten the titles of those posts. We’re talking a year at least ago. And WOW about you swimming with sharks. He has too and I look stunned when I see the pictures he sends me. LOL

      1. In the moment type of thing…. you made that better!!!
Jeeeeesus, what kind of moments you don´t want to be eaten by some weird thing

      2. In all seriousness, being with marine biologist, that had to be quite an interesting and knoledgeable experience as well as fun.
But I´m still not going into wáter, except it is a pool.

  4. Great place. I lived there for eighteen months and loved every minute.
The reef is a fantastic place for diving.
Beware of the rip tides they are strong.
I found the basking sharks friendly and the barracuda annoying as they saw in front of my face mask.

  5. I’ve met a few people from Belize – they were always wonderful & had good things to say about their country 🙂

  6. Hi, I do think your blog could possibly be having web browser compatibility issues. Whenever I look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine however, when opening in I.E., it’s got some overlapping issues. I merely wanted to give you a quick heads up! Besides that, fantastic blog!
